With it's own 50km ski area, Grimentz has skiing to suit all standards, with plenty of off-piste available. With several 4000 metre peaks within view, the landscape is spectacular. The skiing ranges from village height at 1500 metres, to almost 3000metres. Many ski tourers visit Grimentz, and the resort has a reputation for good touring terrain.
The resort has Gondola access to Bendolla, where there is a large restaurant and creche. Snowmaking facilites to ensure good skiing, and easy access throughout the season. The beginners area is at Bendolla together with a childrens skiing area.

Away from the slopes, the village centre, is full of traditional timber buildings, with restaurants, bars, an ice rink and swimming pool available.

In summer the village centre has many balconies with flower displays, music festivals, markets and exhibitions. The cable car runs during the summer, providing access to hiking, mountain biking and mountain restaurants.

The village centre is a conservation area, though it is far from a museum piece, as most of the houses are homes, year round.

The village sits in the Val de Moiry, at the foot of the Moiry Glacier. It's history is in farming, when farmers travelled up with their cows from winter quarters in Sierre. Agriculture is still a strong tradition and cows with bells graze the pastures during each summer.

The Moiry Glacier at the head of the valley is spectacular and well worth a visit, passing the Moiry Barrage on your way. The Barrage is accessible in summer by car, in winter only on skis and off piste. There is hiking, climbing, Via Ferrata and Mountain Biking available in this area.
Above is the Moiry Barrage. It's open to walk across, and there is a cafe at the car park. Many hikes begin from this point and all are signposted.

Above right is the Moiry Glacier, with the Cabane de Moiry visible on the edge of the ridge.

To walk to the Cabane from the roadhead car park takes around 2 hours. Meals, drinks and accommodation are available.

On the right is a view of Grimentz, from the upper part of the valley, in the distance is St Luc, which is also included on the lift pass in winter.

Below are some typical summer and winter views.
